This has a Physical Graffiti feel to it Bats, I like it. Perhaps not as strong a song as your last collection but still very enjoyable. BTW, will 'Stay' become available on Amazon in the UK? I'd grab a copy if so.

Bat, You are in a class by yourself. Really KO. Now, what is that harmony that gives you that distinctive style? Is it perfect 5th's? If so, did you at one time decide to use them to spite your teachers who told you never to write vocals with parallel 5ths? I think it sounds so great. You should be rich and having your way with groupies instead of being here.

I was going to ask that too, I hear Justin Currie (ex-Del Amitri) doing that style, would love to know how it's achieved.

Really cool stuff. I'm listening through cans and the only thing that popped out for me was the main vox is a bit low in the mix. Kinda took me to a Soundgarden from a parallel universe, I mean this in a good way. :)

hey eph, cool of you to say those things, thanks... harmonies, i don't really think about a particular method or approach for harmonies, i just do the ones i like at the moment... i was trained to sing harmonies in church and high school ensembles growing up (a 4A high school, we took state when i was a senior), so any old harmony will do!! but, i guess i've never broken down exatly what i'm going for as a 'general rule', so i can't really answer the question..... i think my harmony approach is different for every song, so maybe i just got a feeling from these harmonies that fit the subject matter, now, i'm curious, and i'm gonna have to go back and look at this!! LOL

thanks bapu..... this was one of my earlier efforts, before i got into sonar, and i have a lot more freedom now, to apply more techniques..... it's amazing i got what i got out of a little 18 track machine back then ..... i have to say, listening to the quality of the individual tracks, the capture into the roland VS preamps is really quite remarkable, makes me want to re-think a new interface.....

I think avid has reached the apex of influence and now Sonar and Cubase (and ableton bleh) are taking over. That's just a casual observation. I read all the music/recording related press and have noticed this trend. Although, Sonar has always gotten short-shrift by those mags for some ODD reason (except maybe SOS) . Sonar has improved so much since x1.

Great song man! Mix is killer. On a side note, this is probably a funny comment here, but listening to this reminded me of when I was younger and still used to grab random rock albums from our record store (mostly vinyl) and give things I'd never heard before a try. I don't do that enough anymore haha.

Yea man. A real album is a beautiful thing. It's just not the same jumping around random songs on Spotify/Soundcloud.
