Long Save Times with Autotune 8.1 Graphical Mode

Hi all,
post title sums up what I'm seeing lately.
If I use the graphical mode of autotune (which I like)
then I'm seeing save times of up to a couple of minutes.
With autotune in automatic mode it takes 1 second.
 
Workarounds I've tried:
disabling FX on the clips still keeps long save times.
freezing the track still keeps long save times
archiving the track still keeps long save times
 
The only success is to freeze the track, move audio to
another track and then totally delete the graphical mode track.
Then it's back to one second for a save.
 
For someone who's used to the days of computers crashing (90's on...)
I use Control S often. This is a huge workflow problem!!
 
The behavior didn't used to be this bad, maybe about 5 seconds for
a save in autotune graphical mode. Not sure exactly when it changed.
 
I'm on the latest version of autotune, Sonar Platinum and Windows 10.
Anyone else seeing this problem or possible solutions?
