Looking For Interface

I've had it with my Focusrite Saffire 6, can't get it to stop cutting out.  I'm looking for something similar, the Cakewalk UA25-EX seems to have good reviews.  Any opinions would be appreciated.

Beagle's list seems to be the standard these days.... It sounds like you would like to replace the Saffire 6 with something comparable.  Focusrite make some great stuff. I'm surprised your having problems.  You may just need an updated driver?

i've used the ua-25 for 3 years now.  soo easy to set up, works with any windows os as they update their drivers right away, and never fails or cuts out.  has two inputs for mic or guitar trs unlike some others.  go for it!  $180 cheapest new on ebay i think with the black front, cakewalks newer version.  looks sexy too!

Carvin Abuser..... do you really abuse carvins...?

I've had a few and they tend to take lots of abuse without much problem.... I had the VT 112... 50 watts into a single 12" and then upgraded to the 100 watt Carvin boogie competitor dumping 100 wtts into a 12" EV , man that thing was so very loud.... then sold it to buy a 22w boogie. Carvins rock.... I still have my 800w stereo amp..... so that makes 3 amps I've had from them and loved them all.

OK to the OP... I would argue that you should find out what is causing the cutting out problem. It would be bad to buy a new interface and find that it did the same thing due to a problem with the computer or a driver issue.

Before I bought a new one, I would try to solve it. Update to the latest driver, see if something else on the computer is conflicting with the interface. Saffire has some very nice gear. I use a Saffire and it works flawlessly.

If you buy a new interface, be sure you have a 30 day return right in case you find the problem is still there in the new one. That would indicate the issue is in the computer or the driver.

Have you checked your system's DPC latency/etc?
Buying/installing a new audio interface won't eliminate system specific problems.  Thus, you could wind up in exactly the same scenario.
If you're absolutely sure the problem is the audio interface, then I'd suggest asking for recommendation (for a proven rock-solid unit) that matches your I/O needs.

RME makes USB audio interfaces that are on par with the best PCI/e units.  And the price reflects this...
The Roland OctaCapture is a nice/solid USB audio interface (round-trip latency isn't quite as low as the RME units but it offers a lot of bang for the buck at $600)
