Looking For a Vocoder
I'm wondering, does anybody know where I can find a screenreader accessible vocoder that works in Sonar 8.5? I've tried Pentagon I, but I'm not sure if that one is fully screenreader accessible. I've tried the MFreeFX Bundle from Melda Productions, but even that one isn't screenreader friendly. The screenreader I use is JAWS (Job Access With Speech), and I use Caketalking 8.5, which is accessibility software for Sonar 8.5 which works in conjunction with JAWS.
I Dream of Australia, France, and Canada, three wonderful nations that represent who I really am.

I don't know if it's screen reader friendly, but the TAL Vocoder is pretty nice and it's free.

I'm not sure if NI's The Mouth is a screen reader too, but it's a great vocoder, harmonizer, synth, bass/FX unit. It's a LOT of fun to use as well. Of course, you do need to have Reaktor to use it.

Is it the kind of vocoder where you can have settings to make it sound like Zapp & Roger, the Sonovox, and the Talkbox?

No, it's pretty much a pure vocoder you feed it synth audio on one side and voice audio on the other and it combines the two. IMO it does a better job of it than a lot of the ones you pay money for.

I wonder where I can find a free, screenreader friendly vocoder that has the stuff I described.

Mesh Possibly this might work (it's screen friendly as well): http://www.cloneensemble.com/al_main.htm (I tried to post more details of vocoder, but the forum software rejected it 2x....)
I listened to the example, and it doesn't sound to me like the kind of vocoder sound found in the Sonnivox or the Talk Box. I wonder, is the Talk Box like the thing Zapp & Roger did back in the 80's? Or was that a different one?

I think you want a Rocktron Banshee and a Les Paul. If you get those two items, you'll probably get exactly the sound you're looking for. A synth and a Banshee would sound more like Daft Punk. Sometimes the organic solution is the best one, some of my best whooshes were done with my mouth making wind noises with a bit of EQ and reverb, filter? shmilter!. :)
