Looking for a free Chorus plug in

There doesn't seem to be a chorus FX in the X1 Producer bundle.  Does anyone know of a good (free) chorus vst?

Thanks

Tom

The sonitus modulator does chorus. As far as free there is one called Tal-Chorus. I think it's 64bit and 32 bit both. I've used it. It's pretty good. The Kajherus Classic Chorus is good if you can find it. Variety of sounds Nasty DLA has delay and chorus.

    Or you could go to:http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2278714
and get the Nomad Factory Liquid II bundle for $15 and get a chorus (modulator), delay, reverb compressor and gate as well.

Is this correct - there is no chorus plug in in X1? Does this mean that all the standard plug ins one gets (or used to get perhaps!) with Sonar are no longer included? I was thinking of all the FX stuff etc.
You know the more I hear about X1 the less I seem inclined to think I should upgrade - at the moment, almost sounds like a downgrade!!!!

I'm on 32bit and I like to use the free Kjaerhaus classic as a simple chorus.

    I don't think they ever made a 64bit version.

The Sonitus pack still comes in X1. And the Modulator is what you are looking for. There is also a very nice free vst Chorus/Flanger/Auto Panner call Simplichorus. I love to use that for that Rhodes satellite panning effect sometimes. Very smooth and very flexible. I don't know if you will be able to find it but it works in both 32 and 64 bit versions of X1.

Tom, another option (not free) might be to look into Nomads No Brainer at AudioMidi: http://www.audiomidi.com/Liquid-Bundle-II-No-Brainer-Deal-P15801C0.aspx

For $15 you get 6 plugins (a little more than $2 a plug) which also includes the chorus.  :D

You should be safe with any of the download sites, just make sure you're downloading JUST the DLL (Classic Chorus.DLL). If you get an executable, delete it, don't run it. AFAIK nobody's ever gone to the trouble of infecting a plugin with a virus, but there have been plenty that were wrapped in evil executables.

Thanks for the tip.  Hmmm...   got a few other plug-ins offered here as good, BUT this one is....   an executable file, but the user says it's good...    don't know why it's an executable file...  don't know what to do here now.

Some small-time developers think it makes them look big-time if they have an installer for their plugins. I wish they wouldn't.

But this particular one is safe, I've downloaded and run it myself.

I agree - keep the plugin-in as a single unit .dll and a simple copy operation is all that is needed. The install gets jiggy when the developers decide to make the VST a stub which then references another vendor developed dll. Think Waves... ugh!

TAL has a free rendition of the chorus that was built into the Roland Juno 6 and Juno 60 synths.

Simple...can't change much. It does what it does...like the old Junos.

Works fine. I use it from time to time.

I have a copy of each of Kjaerhus's plugs - all 32 Bit only though.

If it's not illegal to share them, then PM me.

[If it is, then don't bother].

He never did do any 64 Bit versions, even though he was literally 'begged to' by a number of people.

Otherwise, another +1 for BlueCat's free chorus.

This is the link Acoustica Mixcraft provides for the kjerhaus plugs:

    http://acoustica1.cachefly.net/other/Classic-Effects-Installer.exe

They actually include them with their DAW and provide installer. This is safe
