Looking for a laptop (no more than $2000)

Hi Guys, it's been a million years since I've been here.
 
Hope everyone is doing well!
 
We are looking for a small (portable) but powerful laptop for audio work.
Don't want to spend more than $2K.
 
One SDD will be fine for now, as we can always drop a hard drive for the actual audio recording in.
(so it will have to come w/ and SDD, and have room for one more drive). 
 
Anyone have any suggestions what's great these days?
Way out of the loop when it comes to laptops.
 
If you do have some in mind, please list why you think they are great!

    If you're looking for one to use with a FW interface, you may have a hard time trying to find one.

    Thanks for the info.  Sorry should have mentioned, this is not for myself.

    The sound card is yet to be purchased, so I guess we'll be going USB.
