Looking for a singer for a broken heart song

Hi,

I've just written a text to this really beautiful chillout beat. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZG3_e2zB2oA

You can find other songs by me on: www.soundclick.com/illerill but "Who I Am" is the only new one, rest is really old. I spent all my time with my ex so I haven't been doing music for a while but now I'll be dropping a lot cuz music means the world to me.

I've found good singers on here before and I really think we can turn this into something amazing if we work on it right.

Lyrics: (the bold part is what's need to be sung, but you are free to add whatever feels right. I'm open for ideas.)

All the times that I've laughed with you

(all those times... so many smiles)

All the thoughts that I've passed to you

(No one knows me like you... no one)

All the times that I've laughed with you

(I wanna laugh again)

All the thoughts that I've passed to you

(But now, it's true, that the past we knew, that past is through)

Days unfold but ain't the same no mo(re)
They say it's summer but it's grey and cold
A plate of gold has turned to clay and coal
And a place controlled is now a reign by trolls
It's the sage's goal to erase the old
But a painful road for us slaves to stroll
Where our faith explodes and many graves are sold
But this maze unloads a small trace of hope
There are caves that hold all these sacred scrolls
That show the way to go so I can raise my pole
But... I aint... gonna break your bones
I... hate... that I play a role
Cuz... I aint... merely made of stone
My... face... is a fake you know
Reason that the hatred flows, so I can save my soul
It's just the way I roll.....

All the times that I've laughed with you
All the thoughts that I've passed to you
All the memories us between
It's tough on me to deal that past is through
But I've understood that you're gone for good (x2)

I'm steaming now, I'm bleeding, how
Can I change these feelings route? (how?)
I scream out loud to let the demons out
I scream, I shout but they wont leave their house (x2)

All the times that I've laughed with you
All the thoughts that I've passed to you
All the memories us between
It's tough on me to deal that past is through
But I've understood that you're gone for good (x2)

I'm steaming now, I'm bleeding, how
Can I change these feelings route? (how?)

God, this forum is killing me because you can't edit and need to use html code etc...

The plan is to record this on Friday. Though I thought I might as well make a thread for this now already. I would deeply appreciate your collaboration on this.

Also, this track will be ending at 4:33

How is a singer supposed to know what to sing?  Do you have it with a vocal track?  I couldn't sing something like this but others might want to try.  Am I missing something.  Music is beautiful.

You don't know where to sing it or what do you mean? Bold part needs to be sung. I have the track recorded where I'm doing it all, but it was just a quick test. I'm going to record my part tomorrow, and I can add the singing too although it's going to sound crap with me singing. I'll be back with a link.

Good luck with this, it's a beautiful piece of music, and the backing tracks are very good.  I get a sense of your melody, but the timing is in question.  Nobody here's a mind reader, and this piece is a little short on direction from you.  I look forward to hearing your vocal demo so we can, at least, get inside your head and know what you want.  The lyrics are good enough to get this right.

    All the best,

I would let Eva hear it and see if it's in her key, that is if you even want a female singer.  You can hear her if you go to our soundclick page and hit "The Dream", Tahiti Sunrise".  But, yes I do a lot of writing and have to give the singer on the song at least the floor plan for where the lyrics go according to my idea.  If you have someone make up the melody and do the "fitting", you're talking writing credits, at least arrangement credits.  So, let's hear that idea of yours.  It's good so far!   OH, A QUICK TEST WORKS.

Ok so this is far from finished, but I hope you get the idea with this. My singing is terrible but worse than ever today:D Disguised it with some effects, lol. But come on let's make this into something great! :) http://www.soundclick.com...ault.cfm?bandID=627513 test4

And yeah, I wanted to do some more experimenting with the singing but my throat wasn't bringing it's A game so I couldn't even go there.

No one? Don't judge the track by how it sounds now. My singing is worse than terrible, there are some other things to be added + then mixing + mastering so. Evadianepug: She sounds great! How she would sound on this track I don't know but if she would feel comfortable with it I'm sure she would do it justice:) And a female singer works just aswell as a male singer. With a female singer the idea could be that it's my ex's words since I know she's feeling that way too.

I don't think Eva can do a rap tune. I didn't know by listening to the original track.  There should be someone who can do this, but I just don't think it fits Eva.  ??

Yeah, it's me. Ok I guess I'll try:) I'd rather have myself singing of course just don't want it to be crap:P And as I said, some notes are alot easier to hit than others.
