Looking for an Instrument Definition file for my Yamaha DGX-230. Necessary?

I've found lots of instrument definition files for Yamaha keyboards, but nothing so far for the DGX-230/YPG-235. Not sure why this is, unless they're not really necessary?  Is it good enough just to indicate the Yamaha XG sound set?  My DGX-230 has XG Lite, which cotains 490 different instrument voices. Geez, if that's "Lite" I wonder what the regular strength version is like. Anyway, it was because of this huge number of voices that I was concerned that the XG setting in SPlat might not be sufficient. Anybody care to comment?

I reckon you would get away with trying a standard XG definition file.  There may be some sounds that may show but not present.  However, I think you would be pretty much covered

Okay, thanks for your feedback, promidi. I haven't incorporated the dgx-230 into my mix of instruments just yet -- need to get my space physically squared away a bit further first. But when I do, I'll just shoot for the standard XG setup. Perhaps once I get a better feel for the Inst Defs I can modify it to work best, if necessary. I reckon I'm gonna end up getting some practice on the whole notion of Inst Defs cuz I also have a Casio -- a CDP 220R 88-key compact electric piano that I can't find any ins def files for -- and I'm gonna try my hand at creating one for it. Wish me luck.
