Looking for feedback on the new MS Surface Book

I know the Surface Book was just recently released, but wanted to start a thread, to see if anyone has purchased one yet, and if it runs Sonar Platinum, or any iteration of Sonar well. I'm looking at purchasing a new laptop in the next few months, and want to weigh my options. The price point is a little steep, so if the differences in running DAW software are negligible, I think I may be better off with a different laptop that meets the specs for Sonar.

Also, I saw on the commercial, someone handwriting sheet music, which I would find beneficial. Has anyone tried that? Would that be a feature that might eventually be incorporated into Sonar? And if so, would I be able to include all types of notation, including dynamics, slurs, codas, etc., which to my knowledge, are not currently available in Sonar?

I haven't looked at the surface book yet, but StaffPad may be the app you're referring to.

Surface book looks wicked... blows the macbook pro away.  While my system is way more powerful and cheaper, it is a desktop... huge heavy powerful beast.

I think the new surface book is totally revolutionary.  I've listened to/watched/read most everything on it... if I had the  money I wouldn't hesitate.

It's main drawback is ram... I'm heading for 64GB soon as run heavy ram users. 16GB is great for most and again, if I had the money, to have such a powerful and flexible piece of gear with me everywhere... oh, my... salivating just dreaming about it.  It's both revolutionary and first in class.

Microsoft knocked it out of the park... and it's their FIRST laptop...OY!

Dang!  I didn't see this thread before posting mine with the same question.  Sorry, didn't mean to step on anyone's toes.

For lighter duty work, the SurfaceBook is fine.
Keep in mind that even the i7 version ($2400) is a dual-core CPU (not quad-core).

You can buy a faster laptop (with quad-core i7) for about half that cost.

For $2400, you can get a custom laptop that runs a desktop i7 CPU (no performance compromises).

    Best Regards,
