Excellent read this thread is.
Not trying to hi-jack but as far as pre-amps go I have been on the fence about the Twinfinity 710.
After reading this thread I'm now intrigued with the Tonebeast.
 
I like the idea of the tube - solid state tone blending of the 710.
Maybe that has that little 'somthin' Stratman is looking for.
 
Has anyone had the opportunity to A/B these 2 pre's and what are your thoughts?
 
Thanks and sorry if I derailed this thread.
That is not my intention. I'm just curious whether a more expensive/better quality mic would make more of a difference or if you have a decent mic will the pre be worth the investment?
