No harm in asking though is there.
Perhaps more of us just "ask" for a full detailed response regarding the VAT.

But.
It's the usual thing though...
Most UK/EU customers will just shrug their shoulders and pay whatever CW ask anyway.

WHY DO WE NEED TO PAY MORE IN EURO and UK Pound? Differences in currency? 2010/12/03 04:17:40 (permalink)

WHY are we Users that live in EUROPE that need to pay in €€€ EURO getting scrude and ripped off all the time on all kinds of INTERNET sales?

Why?

I don't see £££ UK Pound are equal of $$$ anywere, only EURO?
And I'm not just talking about Cakewalk store... Almost all INTERNET STORES rip off their EUROPE customers. You can continue have wrong currency exchange if you want but then let us EUROPE and UK customers have the freedom and option to pay in $$$ DOLLAR instead. Today WE NEED to pay in €€€ EURO and £££ UK Pound.

1 U.S. dollar = 0.756315232 Euros
1 U.S. dollar = 0.640368852 British pounds
_________________________________________________________________

Here are the real prices!

Upgrade from SONAR 8.5 Producer to SONAR X1 Producer---> $99 are in EURO=               € 75.39
Upgrade from SONAR 8.5 Producer to SONAR X1 Producer---> $99 are in UK Pound=        £ 63.47

Upgrade from SONAR 8.5 Studio to SONAR X1 Studio--->         $99 are in EURO=               € 75.39
Upgrade from SONAR 8.5 Studio to SONAR X1 Studio--->         $99 are in UK Pound=        £ 63.47

As you all can see, its a big differences. WE European pay over 25 % more of the same product then the US customers do.  I'm just saying,---> is that right? What happen with "what's right is right" and that's the "American Freedom"?

Yes, this with VAT is also a problem.

I have a registrant company VAT number and would like to pay exclusive VAT.
Still on sale from US and Canada I need to pay include the VAT.

Often it works fine on INTERNET-store sales located in EU and UK but as soon its cross the Atlantic sea to US and Canada it seem to be huge problem "declare" how much are the VAT?
I see why and I don't blame them, who doesn't hate TAX.  The thing is that it seem easier to get away of not paying any TAX in those countries compare to the "fascist feel" of TAX-organizations we have here in Europe.

WE, the majority of citizens of EUROPE. We are overall "Over charge" with TAX already on anything, down to toilet papers, food, rent... you name it!  So even if it cost the same WE should in fact need to pay at least 25-50 % less on the prize compare the citizens of US.

Isn't life a ****!

Freddie

I've got a mate called Julian Assange. He says that the reasons for the price discrepancy will be on his website soon.

Thank you Robin.

All we need now is for it to be included on the sales receipt to make it valid...

What about the pricing to non-EU European countries that are outside of the scope of VAT?
Why are they getting charged the VAT inclusive price?

Good to see the VAT numbers being made public at last.
What took you so long?
It would be good to see them on the sales receipt and the VAT itemised properly too.
Shame it's taken years to get here.

You can't just scrawl it on the receipt? I'm sure that's legit

No, the amount of VAT charged has to be shown along with the VAT registration number of the seller on a proper VAT invoice/receipt. Tax = £0.00 doesn't unfortunately convince our Mr. VATman to let us have our 17.5% (soon to be 20%) back.

While it is nice of Robin to remember to post the VAT numbers, it is annoying that it doesn't actually help.  Furthermore, is they simply added an "are you VAT registered" box to our CakeStore account for us to enter our VAT reg number then they could legitimately charge us $99 like everyone else and VAT would never come into the equation.

But Robin VAT is not chargeable in some European territories [parts of which would normally be considered within the EU] that fall outside the scope of VAT and thus VAT should not be charged in Norway, Switzerland, The Channel Islands and several other territories.
http://customs.hmrc.gov.u...pe=document#P151_11937
see section 2.9

So why are customers in these territories being asked to pay the VAT inclusive price?

It's start.
I like how you've written it in smaller text than the rest of the message.

But as others have said.
Your invoice needs to show how much the goods cost (without VAT), then how much the VAT was, and finally your VAT numbers.

I recently bought Studio instruments as a download from you the other day.
The invoice I got looked like this:
SubTotal:
£14.99
Tax:
£0.00
Shipping:
£0.00
Handling:
£0.00
Gift Wrap:
£0.00
Grand Total:
£14.99

No VAT (Tax?).
No VAT number.

Sorry to be blunt, but...
WTF are you folks playing at?
