Looping cropped clips

I want to loop a groove-clip that I recorded myself.
I can see how to trim my clip to the flag parameters, but when I go to drag the loop-enabled clip in order to repeat it, the trimmed material still shows and plays. How can I delete this excess?

Using the Split tool (looks like scissors) split the excess from the other part. Right-click the unwanted part and select Edit>Delete.
If you've already loop-enabled the whole clip, just right-click that and turn the loop off. Once the unwanted part is deleted, you can re-enable looping on the clip that's left.

Thanks for your advice Greg - unfortunately I am still stuck with the same problem.
Maybe I should have mentioned that my clip is on a midi track - don't know if that makes a difference?
I can split the clip, and I can delete the excess (or 'bounce to clip' - either work fine) but as soon as I re-enable the groove-clip looping I am back to square one as the excess just reappears!
    Any other ideas?

the trimmed part reappears after "bouncing to clip"?  it shouldn't do that.  bouncing to the clip should apply the trimming and shouldn't reappear.  how large is this clip?  a couple of measures or is it very long?

    Hi Beagle
In the end I got fed-up and deleted the track, starting afresh.
I recorded it exactly the same way, and now the deleted part stays deleted!
Must have been something weird going on with previous track..hope it never happens again!
    Thanks for your reply

occassionally Ive seen odd behaviors which are only happening in a particular project and when you start new it doesn't behave that way.  probably some obscure gosub in the code that only gets executed when a lot of conditions are "just right"

    glad you got it working.

Found this in the help file:

To Permanently Delete Slip-edited Data Select the clips that contain the slip-edited data you want to delete. Select the Edit-Apply Trimming command. SONAR permanently deletes the slip-edited data from the clips you selected.
