Although I use the browser exclusively to audition samples and loops, it could do with some improvements, most notably:

    1) Fixing its tendency to crash occasionally when you play a loop
    2) Fixing its tendency to occasionally fail to play a loop
    3) Enable support for your mouse's back and forward buttons to navigate directories
    4) Faster navigation. If you click "back" to a directory that has lots of content, there's an very annoying pause while it loads the whole content list again.

yeah simple enough. love the layout. like the categorization by search strings too which can be filenames or directory path info which gelps when you have samples named sttingxx_a in a guitar sample directory with gtr or guitar in the name.

Why is it that we need 3rd party apps to do what the browser is supposed to do?

Well..whether anyone needs it is a personal decision..however the more samples/loops/snippets you have the more you are likley to desire the additional functionality.

the browser allows heirarchical viewing of samples/loops in their native file structure.. any library software allows an orthogonal view through that file structure for sorting/categorising/viewing using many alternative methods/tags...  eg mp3 songs have an artist/album/song structure, while a library (say itunes) allows sorting by genre, or bpm etc..

This annoys me to, if I click the back button Sonar locks up for like a minute, you can break out of it by hitting B but it's still irritating.

What the browser needs is a search tab with 8 auto-complete dropdown combo boxes. Everything should be able to be tagged, clips, plugins, samples etc..

Type something in any field and the browser automatically fills with matches, select something and type in one of the fields and it automatically gets tagged if you hit enter, auto-complete pops a list of matches so common tags are easy to find and apply consistently or you can use the dropdown to pick on.e

Select a range of content and tags gets applied to all selected, you can select with shift or control.

    Need reverb plugin? Type reverb.
Need a list of all plugins? type plugin.
Need a midi clip at 120bpm, rock style? Type Midi, 120, rock

    etc..
