Loops and keyboard

Hi. I recentely purchased Sonar Home Studio and had 2 questions.

The first one is (or at least I think it is) simple: how can I take a loop from sl drum kit and import it as a midi track into my project?

The second one is more complicated (at least I know it will be for me): I have a keybord (a normal keybord, not an USB midi keyboard) with a Midi imput and a Midi output; can I play it in Sonar HS as a midi keybord by linking it with a midi cable to my M-Audio fast track pro? If so, how?

Thanks

Here are a couple of ways to use the MIDI patterns in SI Drums. They can be dragged from the SI Browser into the SI Drum Instrument or MIDI track. They can be dragged into the Pattern Grid below the SI Browser and triggered with a controller using MIDI notes 7 through 11. Refer to the SI Drum for Help "Using the MIDI Patterns" for more info. To get to the help, open the SI Drum UI, click in the UI then hit the F1 key.

Using a MIDI cable connect the MIDI output on the keyboard to the MIDI input on the Fast Track Pro and enable the Fast Track Pro MIDI input in SONAR.

Thanks, everything clear. How do I do the last step (enabling Fast Track Pro MIDI input in Sonar)?

Hi. Make sure it is checked as MIDI input in Preferences (P), MIDI, Devices.
On the MIDI track, set your Fast Track as input.
    All the best.
