Loops causing crash

for some time now, using the loop explorer, the following happens:
 
1.  I will insert a loop (Rex, Wav, MIDI, Whatever)
2.  When I drag the loop, SPLAT shuts down, and sends crash details.
3. When I re-open the project, and repeat the steps, I get another crash.
 
It appears that SPLAT is not optimal for importing/working/editing with loops.  I have to use another program fo work properly with loops.  There are at least 12 separate incidents of crashes and I have sent all crashes to SPLAT bakers....nothing....no fixes whatsoever... frustrating!!
