Lost CD of old Sonar?

I'm still on 8.5, and recently got to thinking, what happens if I lost everything in a fire - my computer, all backups and installation CD's? Is it possible to download this version of Sonar? I assume the CD's don't exist anymore.

8.5 was the first version available for download. The only download version which was not a complete version of SONAR, it requires 8.0 be installed. The disks on the other hand are a full version.

I'm confused. I have the boxed CD version of Sonar 8.5 Producer. Before that I had 8.5 Studio, and before that Sonar 6.

The boxed 8.5 is a full version.

The boxed version of 8.0 had to be installed prior to running the 8.5 download upgrade. This reduced the size of the 8.5 upgrade. There never was a full download version of 8.5.

Full download versions started with X1.

I am not an authority on the subject, but I'm pretty sure they don't offer older versions any more, either download or CD. I may be wrong.

It is easy enough to make backup copies of your installation discs. It is permitted by the Sonar licence and as with most computer software is recommended.

Thanks guys. I will make backups of my CD's. but I'll need to keep them somewhere else - maybe on the cloud if that is doable. I guess another option is an image, but that too would need to be somewhere else, so it also is not consumed by the theoretical fire.

If you're going to back up to the cloud then there's no need to have duplicate discs
