Lost Control functions

I have suddenly lost control of the transport using both mouse and keyboard.  I either open an existing project or start a new one and as soon as I click Play, I cannot stop the transport by using mouse or keyboard.  Any suggestions other than reinstalling everything?

    Follow-up,

    I reset the config file in X1 to default and rebooted.  The control came back.  Don't know why but at least I am working again.
