Lots of small projects, mostly just tests, best way to delete.

I have a bunch of small projects, mostly just tests, if I go to C:\Cakewalk Projects, and delete the folder, will it delete the audio as well, because now, I'm not using an external, so want to clean up a little. Will this completely get rid of said projects? Or what do you suggest to remove small projects you no longer want? Thanks! I apologize for posting in the other thread, but it won't let me delete it, so I started a new one sorry!

I posted this in the other thread .. but this is better to ask your own other than highjacking

If you have created nothing so far worth keeping then you can do no harm.

It is a good idea to make your own folders for storing each project and not using any global audio folders etc. Otherwise the good will be mixed with the bad.

It's no different than managing your photos or any digital files.
Just put things where YOU want them and don't let the software decide.

Before you hit record. Do a "save as" for the new song and browse to where you want it to be using windows navigation. Make a new folder and put it in there.
Check the "copy all Audio with project "   Use CWP for extension.

Now that folder contains everything to do with that song. It is easy to delete it or move it, or copy it.

There's no need to delete the cakewalk folder, Just open it and delete what inside if you think it's trash.

If you do have a few projects you want to keep, Then yes back them up to a external drive first.
You can also save them locally which is a good Idea too.

Using "save as" and "copy Audio with project"  will save only what you want to keep.

If all you audio was originally in the global audio folder ( found in C/ Cakewalk Projects) then this will separated the good from the bad.

Test your "Good"  projects first before deleting anything.

A few ways to proof these:
Go and move the global audio folder to a new location on the same drive. If you open a project and it can't find the audio then it was still using that folder. Do the save as again and make sure you choose a different location.

    another test.
Close Sonar and open a project by clicking the CWP icon on your back up drive.

If all is good open the global audio folder and delete all the waves inside.

No need to delete the audio folder, just the contents.
