Lounge Lizard full version

SPlat comes with Lounge Lizard, which I like, but I find it limited.  I've been looking for a good Rhodes library, but haven't found anything I really like.

has anyone upgraded to the full version of LL?  it's currently on sale in the cake store for $75.  I'm wondering if it's worth the upgrade price?

There is a trial of the full version https://www.applied-acoustics.com/lounge-lizard-ep-4/#trial
I think it is pretty good but definitely don't take my word, give it a try. $79 is better than the sale AAS has right now.

I've never played the version of LL that comes with SONAR, just the full version. Love it. Really good presets. Lots of Rhodes and Wurlies. Prefer it to the Mark One instrument in Addictive Keys. Of course, if you have both, you can layer them!

Thanks John!  I don't have Addictive Keys, but I do have the EZKeys classic electrics.  it's OK, but it still leaves me wanting something a little better.  same with the free version of LL, that's why I'm wondering if the full version is what i'm hoping for.

How license transfer works

The current license owner, the seller, must fill and submit this license transfer request form. Once we review and approve the license transfer request, the seller will receive a message containing a confirmation link; visiting the link will complete and finalize the transfer. That is, the seller's serial number will be disabled and the buyer will receive a message containing a new serial number and a link to the product's latest installers.

It is the wrong product, you already have Lounge Lizard Session 4. What you are looking for is Lounge Lizard EP-4.

That's what I wasn't too sure about.
Took another look at the two and Beags, you're looking to get LL EP-4: https://www.applied-acoustics.com/lounge-lizard-ep-4/

Interestingly (at AAS), they're both going for $99!!
(doesn't quite make sense on having a sale on the full and not the Session)

It's ok Beags, I see that you have your hand over your eyes in your avatar.

Keep checking the KVR site....you should be able to get it for 50% or less than the current prices.......just make sure the seller has positive feedback (and is a regular) over there.

If you want a straight Rhodes sound, I think GSI Mr Ray is excellent but you'll need to add your processing with other VSTs. The Overloud VKS series would be excellent.

Otherwise Lounge Lizard is great if you want flexibility. And all of the FX processing is built in..

Peace!

Both AAS LL EP-4 and Pianoteq R2 are mighty fine examples of Rhodes Mark Twain modeling. You also get great Wurlies. When you go the Pianoteq route, you don't need to buy acoustic pianos. Just select R2/W1 and you get Rhodes, Wurli and Hohner bliss.
But some prefer samples over modeling. If that's you, look into Sampletekk Tubed Keys and Wurli, SonicCouture EP73 and Broken Wurli, as well as AIR Velvet, which I particularly like.

Actually, I already have the Sampletekk Tubed Keys and Wurli, but they're very limited to one specific sound.  The Tubed Keys are sampled by mic'ing a Fender Twin that a Mark IV is connected to.  that's great for that specific sound, but I want more options, like clean and chorused.

I have always been a big fan of sampled libraries as well and have always shied away from the modeled ones.  However, I did download the LL EP-4 and the Pianoteq demos.  All I have to say is WOW!  the Pianoteq really blows them all away!  And there are lots of options and they all sound really good!

and yes, I learned that the R2/W1 are purchased separately from the pianos.  now I just have to decide if I want it bad enough to spend $130 on it!
