Loving this cooler weather
There is something supremely cozy about wearing a sweater indoors . All I knead now is a pipe, some slippers and a roaring fire.

So far, since we've moved here, winter seems to take place during the last week of December in Vegas. That's the one week where I feel compelled to put on socks to walk down the street to the mailbox. Though we've noticed a change in climate in recent weeks, it's mostly been like trading sunny skies for clouds and rain. And humidity, which wrecks up my joints. So, no fun. But I should soon be able to enjoy my own version of the classic fireside night.

Yeah once the humidity falls over toward the end of September I feel this immense sense of freedom. It makes me want to frolic through the fields. A bit like this dismembered dog's head.

I avoid weather as much as possible. It needs to stay outside where it belongs. The other day, one of my kids opened a window in the van. Fortunately, we were able to seal off that bulkhead before we vented too much atmosphere. I haven't looked at my lawn in several months. By now, it's probably covered in kids. That happens when you're not out there to tell them to get off of it. No matter how many times I try to explain this to people, no one ever gets it. If you look out there at that unfinished open area called "Sky", you might see a huge ball of fire floating by. I am not kidding. It's a great big ball of fire just burning away in the sky. Seriously. Everyone I tell about this just acts like it's normal or something. It's a ball of fire in the sky, for crying out loud. Weather. It just ain't right.
