Use a different MIDI channel for each track. Set the channels and patches (Pch=instrument sounds) in the MIDI track pane. It will always default to piano if you don't select a patch.

maybe this will help.... http://www.herbhartley.co...edited_slimmer_005.htm go to the advanced TTS setup about halfway down the page. I describe how to set the channels so they play back different instruments. THis assumes you are working with TTS..... you did not state the name of the synth, the version of MC you are working with or anything about the specs on the computer & soundcard... so we're guessing in the dark.

Sry for late reply; been a busy week. Im using MC 5 btw. I got it to play back the sounds that are on my synth, and all thats working well. The volume playback level is very low though... I messed around with as much as I could find, but im new to this program. When I turn my speakers all the way up and cakewalks, its sounds like something youd think was playing at only 25% volume.

If you are using a factory sound card, you might want to visit the WINDOWs MIXER and see if the levels can be turned up from there. Or check in the synth. Most of them have a master volume knob as well. I think they default to something less than full volume for obvious reasons..... some of the samples and patches can be very loud..... to the point of destroying speakers.

my synth Which is? The Casio? Or a soft synth? If it's the casio, just turn up it's volume. For what it's worth, no soft synth I have plays as loud as my keyboard.

Sounds from my Casio played back through my computer. Turning up the Casio sound, or the windows mixer volume doesnt effect the playback level of what was recorded. -_- If I used some other program to boost the volume would that distort it?

On a different computer I had, the Windows mixer also controlled the input levels from the soundcard input as well.

Did you record the audio output of the Casio into an audio track in MC or are you playing the MIDI parts through the keyboard which is connected to the computer's sound card?
