    Hi Eric,

Good song.  The mix is dull in that is lacks upper mids and highs.  Please compare to

Maybe your speakers are naturally too bright.  The sounds and arrangement are there.

    Hi Eric,

Rimshot and I must have very different listening environments because all I hear is upper mids and highs.  That would be fine if it had some low end to balance it out.  Otherwise, there is a lot to like about this song.  The guitar tone is tasty, the arrangement is nice.  It's a loud mix which reduces some of the dynamic range overall, but I can live with that.  I will give this a listen later in the day after my ears have awakened.

    All the best,
    Lynn

This song is better than the Lords and Kings tune IMHO. There is a structure and groove that is easy to pick up.

There is still something underlying in it that bugs me .... not quite sure exactly.   I think it is the drums.   the song sounds like it wants to swing and groove, but the drums are simply plodding along with a basic straight beat holding it back.   Kinda like they are fighting the song.   (Does that make sense?)

I think there is too much reverb also that blends everything together a bit too much. Also...IMHO it's busy and meandering..... both the guitar and the sax are wandering aimlessly at the same time... there is no melody or theme to either. It needs a theme or a melody that both the sax and guitar follow at points in the song. If they are playing at the same time, it better be interesting and not just "there"....

the few bum notes can be fixed... and I thought I heard a chord clash (what happens at 1:18 to 1:21? ) and this is just the first of several areas that had me asking "what was that?"

Some more work, pick a melody to under-gird the tune, use envelopes to bring the lead instruments in and out. I think you are headed in the right direction towards a cool tune once it's all sorted out.

Just a note on instrumentals , it is imperative that you go through with a fine tooth comb and pick out the nits.

    hope this helps.

I agree the mix needs fixing and theres no intro ! It jumps straight into the music almost like theres something messing like an intro section or a fill & crash something that will lead you into the song your playing .

Good WIP , work on the intro & mix and you'll have a nice jazz song .

    I agree with Guitarhacker's comments.

There is too much reverb on teh sax that the articulatons have become muddied.  Also, I appreciate what the guitar and sax are doing on an individual basis, however where the instruments are playing at the same time I feel these parts should be choreograhped better.

    Just my 2 cents.
