Luftikus Updates GUI in version 1.3 - Great freebie EQ

Two reasons for the post:

Firstly this is a very nice EQ and has been closely compared to the maag EQ.
Definitely worth a look if you have not tried it and best of all it is free!
http://code.google.com/p/lkjb-plugins/

Secondly the new version has just had a GUI upgrade which better suits the quality of the plug.
Unfortunately I have had constant dropouts when using the new version.
I wondered if anyone else found this?

Thanks for this...this is a great clone of the Maag...
The old gui was terrible, but the plug sounded great...
I'll let you know about dropouts when I try the new one!

Can anyone tell me how well the "keep gain" mode works?

When I took a quick look at it in VST analyser it keeps the EQ curve but drops the overall gain to the midpoint of the overall eq plot. If that makes sense.

I must say that I really like this on Guitars, Piano and Vocals the "air band" effect is very nice. I find that it is very similar to the new RS56 I picked up from Waves earlier this year. It boost the highs very smoothly and does not get brittle. It also seems to add a little bit of grit but in a pleasing way. It is becoming a goto more and more for high range frequencies and if I need an EQ with colour.

Anyone having the audio dropout issues with the new version?

Hi Crowned One - I installed and have been using the new version for about an hour or so - no problems at all and no drop outs.
    I'm on X1 64 bit Windows 7 64 bit.
The GUI is a vast improvment and I think I notice some improvment in actual performance
    Cheers

Thanks for sharing this info.  I just put it on a EZKeys Piano track and it sounds really nice, smooth, pleasant.  I will be keeping this one and using it more often.  Does remind me of RS56 , Not edgy or brittle or harsh.  The keep gain is also nice, which seems to keep the volume constant.  Instead of boosting the volume, the loudness stays the same but the eq is altered.  Nice  Smooth indeed!  Here is the Wiki page for description of functions: https://code.google.com/p/lkjb-plugins/wiki/Luftikus
