Ironically, it's also an example of how Pete became a troll.

Peter Parker, surely in your time off from saving the world as Spider Man, you've managed to realize that, if Cakewalk would ever offer a feature update to GTP3, then maybe we'd have something to talk about besides who's been making pointless posts, who's a troll, who's a real girl or not, and who's got flammable gas. Most of us have been spending time in other forums just for a chance to feel useful. We keep the pointless banter here, in the one forum that really deserves it.

Cheers,

I can't agree with that Jessie.

I know this is a slow forum but we do get some worthwhile stuff done - you only have to look at the calibre of those who contribute some great information and advice to appreciate that.

You know your Uncle Strummy's right - don't make me come up there.

Sorry, Steve. I was over-generalizing to push some of the blame onto Cakewalk. You guys do a great job of helping people whenever they ask for it, and I wasn't trying to dimish that. I especially appreciate our off-topic threads that still pertain to recording, music, guitars, etc.

By the way, has anyone tried the George Lynch Screamin' Demon humbucker by Seymour Duncan?

I know Jessie.

You obviously realise that from past comments of mine that I'm in complete agreement with your sentiments!

Acutally, I find it somewhat interesting that Pete's cry for more efficient code has been answered by Cakewalk. But not in the manner that he was hoping for. The code efficiency was addressed in S8 and SHS7. Mostly to take advantage of the changes that Vista brought with it and the change in hardware architecture over the last 3 years. Unfortunately we will be looking to yet another change in OS here in the coming year according to Microsoft. Windows 7 which is meant to address all the short comings in it's Swiss cheese OS Vista and it's barely functional predecessor.

I'm sure the programmers at Cakewalk are having all sorts of fun with trying to make things work within the Vista framework. It would be nice if they had just 3 flavors. Sonar Lite, Sonar Standard and Sonar Xtreme. Kind of coinciding with casual user, home studio user and audio geek.

What's the barely functional predecessor -- XP?
