The FSF motto?

I was recently served coffee by a guy who had graduated with a degree in Futility. I told him I didn't see the point. He sighed and said it was nice to meet a fellow graduate. 

I met a guy who told me he was filled with apathy. I told him I'm part Cherokee. He did not seem to care.

He was part honey badger, wasn't he?

Can I be honest with you guys in here for a minute?  I promise just for a minute then we can all go back to our buffoonery.
 
When bapu created this thread I did not like it at all.  In my mind this thread was simply a way to keep some people from complaining about the numerous "buffoonery" threads in the CH; One thread to rule them all, One thread to find them, One thread to bring them all and in the darkness bind them.  more or less...
 
it was a "cop-out" to bow to the wishes of the vocal minority...in my opinion. 
 
Maybe it is, maybe it isn't.  maybe it has become something completely different.
 
but I am beginning to understand a reason to post silliness in here instead of out there now.  it apparently doesn't go well for people when you post something fun in the CH if you're not under the protection of the FSF...because of the vocal minority.

The FSF is vast, beyond reason. No one knows how massive it may become. In spite of its monstrous mass, it is still not enough to contain all of our collective stupidity. Stuff will spill out. It's inevitable. 
 
I can understand that reading an entire page full of inane blather may be tiresome for some folks, so I try to restrict my own idiotic ramblings. In time, the Coffee House may change and respectable folk may decide that it's time to clean out the riff-raff. If that happens, then some of us might be forced to move on. Some of us are used to getting kicked out of nice places. In the meantime, I'm hoping that a little self-restraint on my part may help to ease the tensions. Having a place like this where we're not hated is a rare thing. Making friends in such a place is even more special. The Coffee House has a been a unique refuge for many of us and I hope our presence will be tolerated by our betters for some time.

My guess is that some are either way too serious in "real" life (whatever they believe that to be) or they don't realize that this is a wonderful outlet away from day to day stress.
 
Their loss IMO.
