When I lived in Vegas (during my college days), black jack was my goto game and I used to play the single deck tables (sometimes double). It wasn't hard to keep track of all the aces & 10's (especially if you're sitting at the last spot) and make fairly good decisions on how much to bet.
There were many nights I did really well and then there was the other 90%.
The only cards I get close to in Vegas are on a video poker machine and I only play that (during commercials) while I'm watching football on TV. Unlike my bride, who plays a video poker machine like Elton John plays piano. I keep telling her that there are no professional video poker players...
I also use to try my luck on video poker machines and generally had pretty good luck at the Smith's grocery store on Trop/Eastern (not there anymore). I remember getting a lot of 4 of a kinds/full houses etc...almost every time I played.
My dream was to hit a Royal Flush, but it ended up in the toilet region instead.
