Also, many bigger events DO have points that count towards a National ranking (I've been in the top-25 U.S. twice in my life and was the #1 player in my region here in 2005 - Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana). So I wasn't sure which way your were going with your comment and decided to take a different route on the reply.
BTW - Lots of darts also have plastic points now (so-called "soft-tip darts") with lots of money involved. Personally I can't stand the things and stay with the traditional steel-tips.
