I don't have Ozone, but know there is a multiband comp there. Do you use it? Maybe to much mid compression?
That would be my guess, but might not be worth the web it was written on

I'll have to go and check tonight....TBH, I just went through almost all of the presets, found what sounded good to my ears, tweaked it here & there, and did the mixdown (was rushing a bit to get it done and send it my family).

I picked the wrong day to give up EZMix.

I'm soon off to collect my "new" drums

....but, but, but.....will you be able to play it today?
....and, and, and....will you trigger AD2, BFD3, SD2?

(patiently waiting to see the Youtube video of the above CONCERT!!!)

Just a general question for you guys (from a noobius mixer)...

I have 1 vocal track, 1 acoustic guitar track, and 1 synth that I mixed, and sounded nice/ok to me. I used Ozone 7 to master this (with one of the presets very slightly tweaked)....which also sounded very nice.

After converting it to an Mp3 (192 kHz) and listening to it here at work, I hear a lot of mids that need to be tamed (no buzzing or unpleasantness, but way too much mids IMO and just on the vocals only) that I don't recall hearing last night at my DAW.

If it isn't anything to do with the mp3 conversion, should I try to EQ the mids or?? (a different Mastering preset?)

At 192, mp3 should be essentially transparent with a decent modern encoder. There certainly would not be a difference in the frequency response, as that's not the way lossy encoding works, aside from the general filtering out of stuff > ~16kHz because it likely wouldn't be audible anyway.

My best guess would just be different speakers or speaker configuration.

Thanks Drew, that helps....I'm listening at work on an older pair of Beats by Dre and playing it via Win Media player (without any enhancements/graphic eq etc..). You're probably right.....it might be the H-phones.

On a different note.....if you guys have a few minutes, check out Desert_Duster in the Songs forum. I pulled a few guitar strings and Adrian (Biodiode) did all the synth/drums/production on this (our first collaboration). :)

I've just tested that it works, and is recognized by SONAR. I have to clear / rearrange some space for the kit.
It is laid out, ready to connect tomorrow morning when I get up

Don't mind me, Mesh. I'm just laying here under the coffee machine. I don't have time to waste filling a mug. In addition, nothing wakes you up faster than third degree burns on your face. Well, I suppose having someone slice the skin off your feet with a vegetable peeler might wake you up a bit faster, but that's not a likely scenario.

I don't have a vegetable peeler.
