Hi, you can count me in as a latecomer, sorry. I bought my V-Studio 700 SET in 2013, recently upgraded the whole system to Windows 8.1 (with the corresponding drivers) and to Sonar X3 (adding some extensions in addictive drums). As a result, I am very happy and satisfied about the system whose features I am still discovering. The only thing I would like to change is my computer screen (from 24' to 80' ).
Some of the entries in this forum were very helpful and I am very thankful to the experienced people who share their  know-how in a constructive manner, whereas some discussions seemed unnecessary and rather time-consuming to me.

I'll probably never let my VS-700 system go, until it breaks and can't be repaired. This controller just looks way too good. And it does what other controllers can't do if you're using Sonar. I think this system remains the greatest system ever created for less then $50,000.

Unless Tascam comes out with a competitive system that makes me want to sell the VS-700, the only thing I might consider upgrading is the audio interface to something better, that's about it.

you don't like the 700 R?

VS700-R is great and transparent, the only thing I consider is that other mic pres have a natural wider stereo field and a headphone output in which the 700r doesn't.

Hi, I have a VS700 studio with 2 700R's. Using Sonar X3e and I am actually unhappy with the control of surroundchannels with it. (See my other post).

Wow, I'm really late!  But I've been a very happy V-Studio 700 user for a couple years or so.  I'm still using X2, as an upgrade hasn't been in the budget this year.  I simply adore the whole system.  I haven't heard much about X3, but it sounds like the VS700 crowd is fairly happy with it?  The 700R is a very fine audio interface, and I love the built-in Fantom.  The 700C surface is beautiful and works great, even considering the few shortcomings under X2.

I've certainly had my share of troubles, mostly during the crazy initial setup phase.  Yikes.  And there are a few niggles that sometimes annoy me and make me wonder, "What were they thinking?"  But ever since the firmware updates, drivers and quirks were all well and fully ironed out...it's really been a joy to use.  I still get excited every time I yank off the dust cover (courtesy of LeCover.com...highly recommended).

Hi guys,
I bought a used refurbished VS-700 Set one week ago (without any cables, drivers or software). Therefore I ordered a cable (at Roland) to connect the console with the rack. I run the VS-700 with Cubase 7 software and it works great. Because of the missing cable I can´t use the rack and the audio interface at the moment. I hope it will also work without any problems. Think there aren´t many VS-700 users here in good old Germany.

Another user here of just the V-Studio 700c, haven't got the 700R. I currently use it with X3e, but having problems with master fader not lining up and responding properly. Hoping someone can fix it finally. Wouldn't use any other Control Surface, am considering going back to 8.5 if no one can fix the problem. Thanks guys
