  • Pyro Audio Creator LE from 2010 not working in 2015 with new computer & Windows 8

Hi, I hope I'm in the right place.  Back in 2010 I received an AT-LP2D USB turntable with Pyro Audio Creator LE software so I could record my extensive album collection and burn to CDs.  After downloading the 1.5.2 update, things were dandy.  Then there were a few years when I had a borrowed laptop and I couldn't do anything.  Now I have a new computer with Windows 8.

The trouble I'm having is with the sound, either during recording or playback.  I'm getting either:

1) unpleasant noise interference during recording (with or without Input Monitoring); or
2) The recording seems to be fine, and I can hear it as it records, but I can't hear it play back as a project.  When I save it as a WAV file it plays back fine in Microsoft music (or whatever).

I'm not technologically gifted, and frankly, I don't want to be.  I read support documents and after a while my eyes glaze over and I have no idea what any of it means.  I may or may not have checked my sound card or something card.  I've muted things & unmuted things.  I really have no idea what I'm doing.

I just want to hear the playback as a project so I can insert markers, or take out a track that has an irreparable skip or something.  Is there something simple I'm missing?  I appreciate any information and help.

I would do a re-install and see if that helps. If I don't use Pyro for awhile I have to re-install it. I don't know why, but I have had to do it a few times. I wish Cakewalk would update it to 64bit at least.
