i connected my interface , switch to asio driver on my software, ran wave diagnostics to confirm all mic inputs are recognized by software......now when i record, it only records from 2 mic inputs and does not capture the other mics sound recording...and it sends the sound recorded from 1 & 2 audio tracks to all the other audio tracks in alternating recordings....why is this?

Welcome to the forum!
I don't have MC3 but I think it's limited to two tracks simultaneously recording. I don't know what interface you have, but an interface/soundcard setting called "Stereo Mix" or similar usually causes all tracks recording on top of each other.

Welcome to the forum.
Kalle;s right; only 2 inputs in MC back then.
If you are using Win 7, 8 or 10, consider upgrading to Cakewalk's new SONAR Home Studio, MC's replacement. Then you'll be able to use all your mike's inputs, and it's a steal at.... $40, I think.
