New computer and new install of Sonar x2 and after installing Dimension Pro 1.5 (installing as Administrator), it's not showing up synths list. All others are, but not Dim Pro. I've uninstalled and re-installed and still nothing. I was able to run, and register, the stand-alone version, but still nothing is showing up in X2.

I accepted all of the defaults during installation. I can't seem to find any issues like this in our forum or on the net; lots to do with registration or upgrading, but not with a fresh install.

Is is possible one is installed 32bit and the other 64bit?

Scook - thanks for the reply.

I was thinking the same idea after I submitted this. I've submitted the issues to support as well. I'm thinking since this product has been out since April of last year someone might have ran into this issue.
I was also wondering if I need to add additional folder location to my plug-in manager. Although, I would think accepting the installation defaults (like I've done with all of the installations I've done) this wouldn't need to occur.

The upside is that my older system still has this working, be it slow...very slow, so I'm not dead on the water, but I need to eventually get this new one up and running.

The default 64bit install of DimPro will be picked up by 64bit SONAR. The same is true for 32bit. However the 32bit DimPro install will not be automatically found by 64bit SONAR and the 32bit version of SONAR will not run the 64bit version of DimPro.

Either way, it is easy to check if this is the case. Cakewalk 64bit software defaults to "C:\Program Files\Cakewalk" and 32bit to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk". Check if both are installed in the same directory.

I double checked and it's the 64 installation, C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins\Dimension Pro and Dimension Pro x64.dll and Dimension Pro x64.exe are in the folder. I'm not sure why Sonar isn't picking up the dll, it's picking up other items, like Session Drummer (Sessiondrummer.dll), SI-Bass Guitar.dll, etc.

I installed the 32-bit version and it showed up, go figure. I'm curious what CW support is going to say about the 64-bit not showing up.

Thanks SCook for helping me out with this.

Sounds similar to this thread http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/2950211 about missing Session Drummer

That post looks similar. I ran the Dependency Walker and it found errors. But I ran it against the 32-bit install and the same errors appeared.

If possible call tech support next week. May want to have your ticket number and dependency info handy.

Musiccontiuum - Did you figure this out? I just ran into the same problem today: Dim Pro 64 v. 1.5 installed, standalone working fine, dll in the correct folder, correct folder being scanned, but no plugin shows up in "Insert Soft Synth" menu. I found a couple of old versions in Windows Control Panel and uninstalled them, then reinstalled v. 1.5, but no change to this problem. I've probably had this issue for months, but just noticed it. Doh!

Not with the 64-bit, but the 32-bit does work. I do need to follow up with cakewalk support. So at this point I'm using the 32-bit.
