I'm rewiring Reason into either Sonar or CbB. Currently sending 3 tracks on separate stereo outs from Reason 8 to 3 stereo audio tracks in Cakewalk, if I put those 3 Cakewalk tracks into record ready then hit record then they start recording all in proper time, hit spacebar to stop recording and the 3 recorded tracks shrink to half size 2 times speed, so far I can only control shift drag each one to 200% to get them back to correct speed. Is this a setting error somewhere ?.

It sounds like the sampling rate in SONAR is double what Reason is using. In SONAR that is displayed up in the time module, but not sure where it is in Reason. I have not used Rewire, so not familiar with the intricacies, but sampling rate mismatch would create what you are seeing.

Cant see problem with the sample rate as both progs are set to audio interface Rate. But more weirdness, if I only use Reasons outputs 1 + 2 the recording converts corectly, any other output goes wrong and gives me half length double speed audio. Now if I record Midi from Cakewalk to instruments in Reason ie(using Reason as a VSTI) then freeze the tracks in Cakewalk then all is well. Go figure seems to be my current thought.
In addition I thought I'd try with Studio One which has other problems with Rewire but not this one, all audio converts properly from any channel, but you have to create busses for everything you want to go to audio, bit long winded but gets you there. No conclusions here but something odd between Reason and Cakewalk.

Make sure you have the very latest ReWire dll. I vaguely recall ReWire weirdness years ago. It turned out there were 10 or so ReWire dlls in my system! I deleted all but the most current one, and everything worked fine after that.

It doesn't seem like you have an excessive number of ReWire libraries and I don't think that's the problem. But you never know...you can try changing the name of the 2014 files to .dlx. That way Sonar won't recognize them, but they'll still be there if you need them for some..."reason."
 
I use ReWire quite a bit and haven't encountered the issue you describe. I wonder if it has something to do with REX files being converted to Groove Clips within CbB, and CbB not guessing the number of beats correctly. Instead of control-shift-dragging the files, try opening them in the loop construction window, and enter the correct number of beats. I have a hunch that's going to solve your problem.

Hi Craig, I changed dll to dlx on 2014 versions but no difference so obviously not the ones I'm using.
The audio I'm having trouble with isn't REX it's just the direct audio out from a Reason module into an audio track in Cakewalk. Its when I record that audio it goes wrong, but only if it's coming from any Reason output other than 1+2 and if the midi that's playing that module is from Reasons own sequencer, if I send the midi from a track in Cakewalk to the module then freeze the instance of Reason it works perfectly no matter what Reason output I use. I've done this with multiple modules and suitable midi and audio tracks routed in Cakewalk, then frozen Reason and all tracks render to audio as expected.
This is obviously my way forward at the moment, just means I won't be able to make use of any of Reasons sequencing etc.

Sorry I couldn't help. It sounds like the issue is with the sequencer, not the audio.
