Everytime I open aproject Sonar platinum errors out, goes to a fault reporter popup then closes. Please someone help me figure this out, have had to be on july version since even September update messes up.

Do all projects crash?  Or just the one you need to get to?

If all the projects crash, do they all have the same vst's in them?

You can do a "safe open" by holding down 'shift' when you select 'open'.  Disable all the vsts.  Does it crash?
1.  No crash ... then one of your vsts is unstable or one vst is making another unstable.  you'll have to experiment to find out what is going on with whom and when.
2.  crash ...
     a.  Is windows up to date?  Run update to make sure.  Retest.
     b.  what is in your startup folder?  disable everything.  Retest
     c.   run msconfig, write down what is included in startup now, then disable everything, reboot.  Retest
     d.  run scannow /verify to make sure system file integrity is OK.  Scannow will run in 'look-see' mode and won't mess anything up.

Well its all projects, and some that don't even have vsts like a fresh 1 track for a dumby master, and I don't know how it can be vsts because everything works fine from anything july and before, its august and September that messed everything up. And yes everything is up to date, windows, vsts, everything. This all started with the august updates, thanks, any other idea? ill try the safe open and see what happens

when was the last time you ran Windows update ?
not all are important but the Visual C++ Redistributable Packages are.

PS- some specs in your signature would really help.

Do you have a Dell?  Please update the Dell Backup and Recovery to 1.9.

That may resolve the crash if you use that software for backing up your system.

This is the official 1.9 link that mentions Win 7/8.1  (the version is 1.9.2.8)
http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/Drivers/DriversDetails?driverId=GX7TX
At issue is a shell extension DBROverlayIcon, that's not compatible with our use of Sqlite for the plugin database.

Otherwise, if you don't use that software you can uninstall it (also known as AlienRespawn)
