Just bought the new CA2A compressor plugin.   Installed and copied it to the same directory as all my other vst plugins.    Had Sonar X3 re-scan the plugins directory.  And still the CA2A doesn't show up.  Am I missing something?  -ryan

If the plug-in is not showing up in the PC, VST2 or VST3 lists, see if it made it into the excluded list in the plug-in manager.

Checked that.  It's not in the excluded list either.

Checked everything. even included C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins\CA2ALevelingAmplifier in the path to scan for VST plugins.  But a Reset and Re-Scan reveals the same number of plugins as before, and the CA2A does not show up in the paths of ProChannel either.

I don't remember the installation procedure, but I'm pretty sure I didn't have to copy it from/to anywhere.  It should install where you tell it to.

Under my VST folder I have a folder named CA2ALevelingAmplifier.  Likewise in the normal VST3 location.

I'm going to reinstall it from scratch.  I'm assuming that if I'm on Windows 7 64-bit, that I should choose 64-bit for the CA-2A?

Do I need to do anything special to have Sonar recognize it?  I use Sonar X3 Producer.

If you have it placed in the correct folder, it should be recognized by Sonar when it does the VST scan, there shouldn't be any other installation needed.  And I believe you're correct on the 64-bit for the plug-in with your application.  Hopefully re-installing the plugin from scratch will correct the problem.

Well, I reinstalled it the 64 bit version and I forced Sonar to re-scan for it.  No dice.   Does not show up on a fresh scan, or is it in any list of installed plugins.  And it doesn't show up in the list of modules for ProChannel.  I even did a fresh boot of Sonar by holding down Shift-Ctrl

I told Sonar to look expressly in all these places where there are CA2A files.  No luck.

C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3\CA2ALevelingAmplifier
C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Vstplugins\CA2ALevelingAmplifier
C:\Program Files (x86)\Cakewalk\Vstplugins\CA2ALevelingAmplifier
C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\VST3\CA2ALevelingAmplifier

Do not put redundant paths in the scan path for any reason, they are known to cause trouble with the VST scanner.  I would recommend phoning tech support Monday.

I am assuming VST reset was attempted in addition to a VST scan.

OK I just removed all but the two default paths.  Did a VST reset and rescan.  Still nothing.  The CA2A is nowhere to be found in any list or in ProChannel.   I didn't think installing a Cakewalk plugin would be this frustrating.  Never had this level of difficulty before.
