I keep getting a "Sorry, a problem occurred. If this problem persists, please contact Cakewalk Technical support" message when trying to download the Artist and Platinum Instrument Collection through Command Center. I was having an issue updating Sonar before with a "corrupt file" message when downloading the update, but found out I had to delete the older download file in the Command Center/Setting/Download Path folder and then try updating again. There are no files in that folder now so the "Sorry" message seems to be another issue that I can't figure out. Hoping it's something easy. Any help or direction would be great.

I should add that the message pops up inconsistently, with the download anywhere between 1% and 37%

Hi Peter.

I've never had a single problem with the Command Center.

If I were you, I'd download the CC again and run it "As Administrator"

Then use it to download your registered products.

Thanks Bristol, I'll give that a try.

In the past, I have had antivirus software corrupt files being downloaded.  My workaround at the time was to suspend the antivirus software until the downloads were completed, and then I would scan the download files with my antivirus.  For ME, that sped things up, and also I stopped having download file corruption.

anti-virus apps only scan once the whole file is downloaded, so it's prolly not that

you could try downloading from your store account rather than via ccc

good luck!

Had one the other day in fact...said CC needed updating...ok..it closed down, and took a few, then restarted back up...I went to get updates for, and the free plug Ca 2a....but when i selected first to updating Platinum, First thing...a crash occured with a message...yah baby I love to crash my systems...But, when that window was closed...and I restarted the cc...it got done...I hope correctly? as it said was installed..then I installed Professional updates also, then the pluging, and lastly, XLN latest, onto the new machines...and went into Sonar to play with midi and XLN 2...Not a good experience!

So...I think wiping out all...and starting over...and over...and over...because something is screwing it all up now!

And I do not want to reg edit..or screw with tweaks, or services...and loose more hair...

So turn it off, and play some music...and remember to repeat these words, I have a brain, and good memory banks in that I am human made better than any machine.....works fine for me...and 8 track tape reel to reel.. is starting to look good again, just to capture the tune!

For anyone using a solid-state drive as their C: drive, I encourage those folks to click on the settings button in Command Center (the round gear-looking thing), and alter the paths for the Command Center stuff to point to a different hard drive, so that you don't fill up your SSD C: drive with downloaded components and content for Cakewalk stuff.  If you had already downloaded to the C: prior to realizing it - you can cut/paste all of that from the C: into whatever your new paths are on the alternate drive.

I have, and I am using a USB wireless dongle for my connection.  I WAS using the Netgear (model unremembered) and got this problem a LOT, mostly needing to resort to manually downloading the files and installing them myself.  However, that dongle recently died completely and I replaced it with a Netgear A6100 which so far seems to work flawlessly on the few updates I have done so far. Time will tell I guess, but it seems to me that this must have been the issue.  However, it is ALSO worth noting that Cakewalk Command Center is the ONLY place I ever had any download issues -- must be a very touchy piece of software.

Just a wondering...Has this anything to do with ips port services?...hmmm...Akamai is always trying to send out, and link up..sending and receiving...What is that doing to my bandwidth?....interesting how I cannot find this service or, turn it off...seems imbedded into alot of programs from what I am hearing....wonder what else might be conflicting with PC computers unsuspected of the NSA and others peering in, and taking out...while we try to download...when a upload is in progress....Eh?
