Hey Guys

Late reply... Is the sync problem still an issue?

Thinkning of getting TR-8 or perhaps the new DrumBrute from Arturia. (Analog thought;) One reason for the interest in TR-8 is that it sound fantastic and have clever integration for 8 separate tracks via the USB cable. I know the DrumBrute do this as well, but via audio cables, so I need one per track... hate cables even though the Drum Brute seem like a cool maschine

I don't think there's any inherent problem between the TR-8 and SONAR, and I doubt the issue was related to MIDI sync/latency. It looks to me like the OP just had too much ASIO latency with his interface - 22ms round-trip - pure and simple. You need to be under 10ms for decent feel with input monitoring, and preferably under 6ms if you're also echoing MIDI through the DAW.
