I had to buy a drummer today to record a drum track.
Splat 22.9.0.36 and holding my breath for 3 days, setting up, testing entire chain of 14 mics, test recording, and then recording.
Flawless performance across the board! :) The most fun I've had recording... and not looking like a fool... (I only do that here)

Thank you Bakers!

Awesome.. now back those up 3 times and carry on with the fun part. I love what you can do with our canned drums in Sonar but I still prefer a real kit played by a real drummer. My best tracks are still those recorded from the drums up. No click tracks.

yes to the first, no to the 2nd ;-)

you realize you got a good drummer in front of your mics if he not only can play along to the click, but if he can grove against it i.e. play somewhat in front or behind the beat on purpose, just what the song sections needs and what the guys behind the glass tell him ...

CWB not very safe!
Use project folders instead. Or both is even better!

You take the whole folder and copy it to a back up. Don't use CWB ,, they are no longer necessary.
Just copy your project folders.
Or us "SAVE AS" and point it to a different drive.
And just one back up is not enough,,, that will be the day a power surge takes out your main HD and the USB drive too.
My own work I can always redo , but any performances by clients I'm backing up to the max.

BTW, "Save As" also cleans up the audio directory i.e. it saves/copies only those WAV files that are used in the project and not the countless takes you threw away by hitting undo ...

Lots of good save ideas, I always have so many redundant saves in place now... whatever works. :) I don't get any power surges since the mid 90s, now I use Power Conditioners. I had at least 4 hard drives melt down in Austin TX in around a month. The power was so bad that my stove burner got too hot it melted a frying pan. lol
I just prefer simple... export CWB... I can only recall it not working one time with some MIDI data with Sonar 8
But it is great to know that there are other ways to save and backup. :)

So what do you do with this drummer you bought when not using him?
