Two items:
You stated that you will be adding a download all feature - Thank you.
1. Would it be possible to change the colors for the status buttons on c3 to simply be,
- Red - your software is not up to date
- Amber - updates are downloaded but no installed
- Green - your software is up to date
2. I know it sound complicated but it's not,
Can the "download all" feature download to a shared location on your main DAW that can be seen by a registered second device (mobile device). Some of us take advantage of having our DAW loaded on both our main workstation and our laptop (as per license agreement) in order to stay productive. Lately it's become such a burden to keep both devices at the same level of updates, that I no longer can use my laptop. I'm still updating my main DAW after 3 days because I don't have the time to wait for each download , then wait for each instal, then search for new updates, and then select the next update. I would like to be able to utilize the main DAW workstation as a central repository of updates for secondary devices. Software like Symantec Endpoint protection does this. It would cut down on the traffic at your download site, and speed up workflows for your customers (like me). The secondary device could use what ever method you like to identify the host location.
If request #2 is too complicated, then simply allow us the ability, within settings, to enter alternate
download and
search compare (you can use an XML file for this) locations. Also include the ability to "store" and then "flush" the "download all" files. You can have the download all feature include an XML file, that lists all of the updates recently downloaded and have the secondary device parse that XML file to determine the updates available. I would be cool with this feature being available to advanced users but totally unsupported by Cakewalk. I just have a limited time to waste on updates.
Don't' get me wrong, for fixes, you could have me copying files one at a time into the directory. I will never complain about what you need me to do, in order to benefit from your effort to make SONAR function better. It's worth the pain. The problem is that we can't distinguish between features and fixes. As for the monthly features - if time is money, then the time we as customers spend adding these features renders them all over priced.
I love SONAR and I appreciate the work you do to enhance it.
