This is the first movement of a new symphony for virtual instruments.
 
Scored for piccolo, 3 flutes, 3 oboes, English horn, 3 clarinets, bass clarinet, 3 bassoons, 8 horns, 3 trumpets, 3 trombones, tuba, timpani, harp, gong/cymbals, 6 synthesizers (2 instances of Dune, 1 instance each of FM8, Massive, Tera and Z3TA, orchestral strings, chamber strings, solo violin and solo cello.

I sequenced the music in Sonar using the notation editor and a mouse.   No playing this time, not even percussion.  Whether I play it in or sequence it, I still have to do a lot of editing in the event list, adding program and controller changes, in other words, articulations and phrase-shaping.

It takes me about 2-3 years to finish a 4-movement symphonic work for virtual instruments.  It would take about half that time if I were simply notating the score for live players and not programming a computer to play it.
 
I do teach online (composition, theory, electronic music production, MIDI sequencing and virtual orchestration).
