First time poster, I'm not sure if I should be posting on this part of the forum but here goes...

For the past 6 months, I've beeing trying to fix this crash/hang I've been getting when copy and pasting, sometimes editing, on the piano roll when using Addictive Drums 2 - yes, I've made sure the plugin is the 64 bit version. The GUI will lock or gray out, and I'll get the windows wait cursor. If tab out and back into Sonar, the cursor will return to the free draw pencil, but the progam will remain frozen. I cannot exit the program normally and have to go through task manager to end the process. No matter what I've tried, through half a year of scouring the web and these forums, it still happens. Sometimes its instantanious, other times I can continue work for a minute or two and then it will hang. I cannot post any screen shots due to restrictions on this forum. Deleting/Editing aud.INI does not work.
 
My computer uses an i5 3.4ghz, 16gb ram and Win 10 (those are the important bit at least) and I've tried different interfaces (I'm currently using a focusrite 6i6), so I've ruled these two out of the equation through process of elimination. The only program that is crashing is Sonar. I also had this problem on windows 7. My OS is fine, no BSODs or hardware failures. A quick look through the event logs shows a Sonar ApphangB1 error.
I've seen that a few people have run into this problem over the past few years and their queries have been left unresolved.

Standard things to check: 

· All Windows updates installed? 
· All latest versions of all hardware drivers (from manufacturer's websites rather than Microsoft)
· Latest version of Sonar Platinum Installed (that you're entitled to) - at this time,  current version is 22.9.2 build 42
· Are there any other programs installed that was put there by the vendor (Like HP tools, for example)
· Might be worth doing a full scan for malware (Malwarebytes free would be good for this)
· Make sure that startup is as clean as you can make it.  Use systeminternals Autoruns for this.
· As a test, start run sysdm.cpl , advanced | Performance | Settings | Visual Effects , tick adjust for best performance.
· Some people have claimed that disabling the WIFI networking improves things.

Everything is up to date, no malware issues, system is optimised and no wifi. Furthermore, I've tried rolling back and in the past and it bought me no such luck.

I did notice something quirky on the track that I was trying to copy and paste clips on. It looks like the clips are overlapping eachother. As soon as I am unrestricted from posting images, I'll upload a screen shot.

Make sure nothing is running in the background.  I have had Sonar hang up when my anti-virus was running in the background.  My computer is off line 99% of the time, it is only on for updates, but Win 10 insists that Defender be on all of the time.
 
Try disabling your Ethernet card via the Device Manager and that your anti-virus is off.  This works for me.  YMMV

Thanks for the suggestion Mario, but I've tried that and it still keeps happening.

Hmm... I was paying attention to overlapping on the clips and it was going well. I had to make sure that the selection wasn't highlighted in order for it to paste without overlapping. I did notice that when I still have a highlighted selection during copying/editing thats when it freaks out. The clips on the track view go from being black with orange lines to grey with black lines and then it just locks up.

Maybe I just have to be a bit more careful.

You seem to indicate this is happening only with Addictive Drums 2? If so, then focus on this portion only.
