Hi

I have a track that outputs to Aux track 1 , Aux track 1 outputs to bus 1 and also has a pre send a to a compressor on aux track 2.

When i solo  aux tracks 1 & 2 and the tracks feeding them there is no input signal from the sends showing on the compressor on aux track 2 ??

I am trying to figure out how i can solo tracks and still use there sends at the same time to do some fine tuning ??

Thanks

Make sure LinkPFSendMute=0 in AUD.INI (should be by default - see the Ref. Guide), and you should only have to solo the Aux tracks; the source track signal should automatically be kept alive, and Aux with the compressor should get signal as expected. I'll double-check here.

That said, what is the purpose of Aux 1 between the source track and Aux 2? Why not just output the source track to bus 1 and put a send on it to the Aux with the compressor?

Works as expected here:
- Soloing Aux 2 alone gives the compressed signal.
- Soloing Aux 1 adds the direct signal to the bus.
- Soloing the source track makes no difference because soloing an Aux automatically keeps upstream signals alive.

Hi ,

Thanks , however its no go sitcho over here .

i have changed aud.ini link send to : 0
No matter what i solo the input on the gate /comp has nothing unless i un solo everything .

Just to confirm i opened a new project to test this out clearly :
0 new project
1 insert 2 instruments i used sylenth .
2 insert synth options for both > midi source > all synth outputs : stereo> enable midi outputs
3 sylenth primary 1 output to aux 1
4 aux 1 output to bus 1
5 sylenth primary 2 output to aux 2
6 aux 2 output to master
7 aux 2 fx bin > sonitus gate
8 sylenth primary 1 > pre send to aux 2 sonitus gate
9 add some midi notes on both tracks hit loop playback
10 hang on just got it  working  by soloing tracks 1 + 2 Primary's and Track 1 + 2 Midi , so both aux tracks are not solo'd and it is working .
If i solo either aux tracks alone there is no input signal on the gate .

Anyways its working here now  the  aud.ini is what was needed thank for your help .

Synth audio may behave differently if you don't have Smart Solo/Mute enabled for the synth (right-click the Synth tab in the browser). If that checks out, try freezing the synth or testing with WAV audio tracks. I did a quick check with TruePianos, and it still worked as expected.

EDIT: Oops missed that you got it working. But I'm not having to solo MIDI tracks whether Smart Mute is enabled or not, so something's still not quite right. Maybe something to do with Sylenth, specifically.

Your right and sylenth would be a perfect example of synth audio behaving differently .

I will try again with true piano this morning and let you know if it works as expected.

Thanks

Hi again

Ok just used true pianos with the steps provided above and the results are exactly the same as with sylenth ,

At the end of the day it works , though I am puzzled why the aux tracks solo/d alone are not providing the expected results you are getting , though it works exactly the opposite way for me - by soloing the primary/s and midi/s and leaving the aux/s unsolo/d combined with linksend aud.ini to :0 . Wierd but I have double checked with 2 different instruments using 2 new project.

Thanks
