I'm having an issue on a couple different projects where I comped a vocal and used a region effect on the comped vocals. Only problem is now I wanna go back in and tweak the comp but I can't because using the region effect got rid of my takes, or hid them. How do I get rid of the region effect and get my takes back?

you can get rid of the region effect by right-clicking the clip and choosing "remove region fx" from the appropriate menu.

If you want to keep the region fx edits, I think for the moment the trouble with a region effect on a take lane clip can only be resolved by bouncing the clip.

That's how I thought it would work, but "remove region fx" is greyed out. And I am only left with the one "vocal sync" clip in my take lanes, the rest are empty now. I don't know what I did but I didn't think vocal sync was a destructive effect. I must have done something wrong I just don't know what. It's like I already bounced it and it got rid of all the takes.

Making a region effect flattens the region by bouncing it down first, so yes it will flatten any takes as well.
You should save a version of the project prior to that or archive a track with your takes if you want to keep them.

Ok, I wish I would have known that first. Thanks to both of you.
