hi everyone, quick question. this is something that was easy to do on sonar X2, however, in platinum, there seems to be a process of some sort.
what i want to do is have an effect (delay) on only part of a clip.
what I've done so far is, split the clip where i want the effect to engauge then stop. what is happening is the effect ends up on the entire track.
what am i doing wrong?
thanks

You can use a Region Effect.

I don't think a region effect is what he wants. A region effect is Melodyne, Vocal Align, Drum Replacer. I think all he wants to do is add a VST effect to a clip.

To do this you right click on the clip you want and point to the add effect menu item.  You can also hit 'I' on the keyboard to open the inspector, select clip from the top of the inspector and there is a Clip Effect section you can use just like the FX bin on a track.

See the linked documentation (by KingsMix)  for the exact details.

In track view select the split clip, right click it and select Insert Effect > Audio Effects

Easiest way is to just drag the effect from the browser onto the clip. Or use ALT-K, the shortcut for opening the clip effects bin.
