It's not just velocity range though, but accents too. It's worth playing with, its only a few controls, but makes the midi rhythm quite plastic

.....'Transform' allows you to change the velocity and adjust the dynamics of the rhythms.
If this is possible for every different pattern, then that makes sense.

I usually transform the clips after moving them to the PRV.
Just highlight the "inappropriate clip" as a whole, and move the velocity slider (bottom view of PRV) until it's close to the one with the "right" velocity.
If I really get picky, i'll do it separately for kick, snare, hihats, etc.

There's a little more to Transform than Velocity Scaling. I like the accents feature, although I I don't use the timing and the other feature (which I can't recall). The accents section of Transform I don't think you can do as easily in Sonar, it's pretty intuitive with the visual guide. With at least  bassline playing you can find useful adjustments that sound natural and interesting before draging out to Sonar.
