Hope someone can help - I've been using Cakewalk Sonar X2 for a couple of year with no really problems but all of a sudden I've started having issue with the midi playback (I've probably unchecked a box I shouldn't of). I'll open a new project up, record a midi track and it will work fine. After adding a few more soft synths it will stop playing the midi tracks? I can still trigger the soft synth with my midi controller or even freeze the synth and cakewalk will produce the audio but sonar doesn't seem to want to play back the midi already in the project?
 
Does anyone have any ideas what might be going on? Any help much appreciated. 

Increase the value of MIDI 'Prepare Using' Buffer under MIDI > Playback and Recording preferences to 500ms if it's still at the default of 250. This is the most common cause of dropped notes.

Hi Brubdlefly - I fiddled with loads of settings yesterday to try and fix it but didn't think to change the Prepare Using Buffer. 10 sec and it's now seems to be sort. Thank you so much
