A blind test would be difficult as you need to see the vintage warm glow of the analog lava lamp as opposed to the clinical digital glow of the VST recreation. A master engineer with golden eyes is required.

The real test is between Pro Lava Lamp and Lava Lamp X1d.

Can't afford one because X2 is around the corner. Perhaps Benstat tapped Panup to add a LAVA LAMP screensaver into Sonar.

I like to work 'in the box' so I have a lava lamp plug-in
Classic.

Made by Waves of course...

I think you'll find the UAD one is the most realistic, but you need the card with it.

Still no word on a Lava Lamp in the next Webinar. Cakes silence on this one is deafening! Conspiracy?

Three Lava Lamps in the Studio.  They are my best sounding analog gear for sure.

Okay it's official, I finally have a lava lamp in my studio. It helps to concentrate on music while mixing, mastering, or just plain listening for problems....It works for me !!

Since I've moved house, my lava lamp now sits proudly on top of a rack of outboard gear and power supplies. My previous studio room was too cluttered that the lamp would have been in danger of getting knocked over so it always used to be kept away safely in a drawer.
