Is there a way to insert an aux send and have it default to negative infinity value? I sometimes like to add Aux sends during playback and having the send level set to 0db can really throw you off.

No, the level is set like all other audio tracks and buses. The aux track needs to be added first, manually set the level, set the input to a patch point then create the send to the patch point on the appropriate track(s).

I agree it is annoying to have to always reduce them down to -INF before slowly raising them to get an idea of how much to add.

Steve, your sentence totally threw me - what have Aux Tracks & Patch Points got to do with it?

I misread the OP as Aux Track instead of send. Send levels default to 0db too. To avoid hearing the immediate effect of adding a send, create the send with the output set to none, adjust the send level, set the output then bring up the level.

A long time ago sends used to default to -INF and many people complained that they couldn't hear them.
So we now default to the standard gain of 0dB.

You know what would be cool Noel?
If the default send levels were to stay at 0db but give the savvy an option to change it to INF.

I have to admit sends defaulting to 0dB is pretty annoying to me. As it's often a reverb I'm putting on a singer the first response is always laughter as if I'm doing something ridiculous. It's subtle but it doesn't help to create an air of professionalism.

I appreciate that everyone's needs are different but would love to have the option to have them default to minus infinity.

Can we make that an option in the Preferences Menu please???? I would love to have a way to set a default level prior to creating the bus/aux send. I would assume that, that wouldn't be hard option to code.

In cases like this always argue for an option instead of a hard change ...
