I agree, drives me up a wall! I come from working on a board and always expect the send to be at INF. I have blasted my ears a number of times with this as many times I don't want to stop the flow. Please can we have the option?

YES! It would be awesome if we could have a setting somewhere to change the default behavior to -inf! Nothing worse than adding a reverb send in the middle of playback and all of a sudden having your mix SWIMMING in reverb.....
 
PLEASE, please, pretty please with sugar on top?

+1 for configurable initial send levels. It'd make my week.

I'd like an option for the default too. I appreciate the reasoning behind why it is the way it is, but this would be a nice advanced user feature.
 
That said, here be dragons. I almost never want an effect send at 0dB, but I almost always want an Aux send at 0dB. So you could easily just be swapping one niggle for another.
