Hello,
I need to transfer tracks from my sonar to a friend who will mix them on Pro-Tools.
I have a few tracks that have empty space at the beginning and end of the track so when I bounce the track it doesn't bounce it from the beginning to the end.   I would like to bounce it from beginning to end of song with a straight line going through the empty space so all the tracks in the project are the same length when I transfer.
How do I do this?
Thank you

I wouldn't bounce them.

Go to Edit > Preferences > File - Audio Data
Make sure there's a tick next to Export Broadcast Waves by Default

Then I'd do an export, selecting Tracks under Bounce settings and choosing the location of your choice

Hi,

Just click and drag on the timeline to select the length you want to bounce.  Then click on the track number to select track you want to bounce.

Hope this helps.

Fjz,
I tried that and when it bounces it leaves out the empty space in the beginning and end.

"Bounce to clips" your tracks. then drag out the beginging (not the whole clip, just the beginning of the clip) to the start of the timeline. bounce again (this can also be don't in one step) then export as BJ was saying
"Make sure there's a tick next to Export Broadcast Waves by Default"

so in essence:
1- drag out the beginning of your tracks so they line up with the start of the timeline.
2- bounce to clips.
3-export the audio (Make sure there's a tick next to Export Broadcast Waves by Default)

Try what Bristol_Jonesey said.  It's much easier and cleaner.

Once you've made your section on the timeline, make sure you're not then selecting the actual clip (ie, the wave form) you want to bounce, because your timeline section will then change to just the clip length (cutting off the beginning that you want to keep).  You have to select the entire track by clicking on the track number to the left (left of the track name).
Other suggestions made above may work better, but I do it this way all the time.

Edited for spelling

Bristol_Jonesey ,
Is there a way to do that to export a midi track, so that the clip extends from beginning to end of song.

When you say "export a midi track", presumably you mean export the audio generated by a midi driven soft synth yes?

I think provided you've got Export Broadcast Waves by Default checked then the export will respect this.

Just tried it: The resulting audio clip from an export of a Session Drummer track extends back to 01:01:000, even though the Midi starts later. Is this what you mean?
